Inside the Guide
Trends in fine jewellery move slowly, and they should. A ring is not a season's purchase. These are the five directions our workshop is being asked for most, and what makes each one endure.

Where a diamond comes from now matters as much as its cut. What certification really covers, and what to insist on.

Heirloom character without the heirloom. The eras being asked for by name, and the details that mark them.

The setting that makes a centre stone look a size larger, and how this year's halos differ from the ones you've seen.

Sapphires, rubies and aquamarines are having their moment. Which colours hold their beauty for decades.

The strongest trend of all: a ring designed from a blank page. How the bespoke process actually works, step by step, and what it costs compared with what people assume it costs.
Why Trust This Guide
Charles Rose diamantaires select every stone we set, using stricter criteria than domestic and international competitors. We do not sell clarity or colour enhanced diamonds, or inferior stones that hide chips and inclusions.
Every purchase is fully documented, certified and guaranteed, including an independent, internationally recognised diamond grading certificate. And because every ring is made in our own Melbourne and Geelong workshops, it carries a lifetime guarantee on craftsmanship.
The guide is written by the same people who do the making.
Since 1923
Charles Rose opened his atelier in Metz, France, in 1923, and quickly earned a reputation for bespoke rings and jewellery of enduring elegance. After the war his nephew Frederick brought the family craft to Melbourne, a tradition that continues today with Marcus Rose at the helm.
One hundred years on, every Charles Rose piece is still designed and made the same way: by hand, for one person, to last.
